WHAT TO EXPECT?

During my travels, no country, or island, has ever impressed me more than one of the youngest places on Earth: ICELAND. The unique and otherworldly nature often makes you feel as if you’ve landed on the moon or another planet somewhere in our universe.

Endless open landscapes and a true sense of freedom are accompanied by breathtaking mountain scenery and glaciers that look like impassable walls of ice. Waterfalls shape the landscape, flowing through small streams and powerful rivers toward black sand beaches formed by volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago, all of it completely captivating.

Whether in the light of stunning sunrises and sunsets or at night beneath dancing northern lights and clear star-filled skies, the island offers everything a photographer could dream of.

Whether you are a beginner or a professional, the very small adventure group guarantees that every challenge can be approached individually. This allows us to learn from one another and return home with an incredible portfolio of memories and photographs.

And even if photography isn’t really your thing, but you still want to experience this adventure, you are absolutely welcome! Just keep in mind that photography will be the main focus of the journey.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Despite the name “Iceland” or “Eisland,” the summers on the island are cool and the winters mild. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any surprises! It can be extremely windy, very rainy, and even snowy — sometimes even in summer.

“If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”

This saying describes Iceland’s weather perfectly. To ensure we’re well prepared for those five minutes in between, good planning is essential.

Part of that preparation takes place every evening in the hostels or apartments where we’ll be staying. During the day, we travel in a spacious camper along the Ring Road — Iceland’s main route. This flexible way of traveling allows us to react spontaneously to changing weather and to explore remote locations far from typical tourist paths. Plus, we always have all our gear with us without having to worry about space.

You will arrive at Keflavík Airport (KEF), which is often mistakenly associated with Reykjavík. In reality, it is located about a 40-minute drive to the west, on the Suðurnesjabær peninsula.

The evening before we head out into our adventure, we’ll spend time in one of my absolute favorite bars: “Lebowski Bar

Your overnight stay in a hostel is already included!

THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION

Our journey begins in Reykjavik and takes us all the way from Snæfellsnes to Höfn and back to Reykjavik.

That’s around 1,700 km!

Food and supplies will be fully taken care of throughout the entire trip, with breakfast and dinner included. We’ll also go grocery shopping together to make sure everyone’s preferences are covered.

At most campsites, we’ll have the opportunity to shower, charge our equipment, and, if needed, wash our clothes — all included as well.

For seven days, we’ll travel together in campers, get to know each other, take photos, review our work, and of course sleep in the campers too. In Iceland, everything depends on the weather, and we’ll always have a plan for every situation. Special attention will always be given to the night sky so we don’t miss the chance to witness the Aurora Borealis.

Relaxation won’t be neglected either — and I have one or two surprises prepared for you along the way!

Still, most of the trip will be adventurous, with little sleep at times, while we fully enjoy nature and the experience of camping in the Icelandic wilderness.

WHAT DO YOU GET FOR YOUR MONEY?

NO ROOM FOR BIG LUXURY

As mentioned before, we’ll be traveling in a camper with limited space available.

From experience, we really don’t need much while camping, which means large suitcases won’t be necessary. If you plan to explore Iceland on your own before or after our adventure, it’s usually no problem to store any luggage you won’t need during the trip at the vehicle rental location.

If you’re visiting the island only for our adventure, I’ve prepared a short overview of things you might want to bring along.

You’ll receive more detailed information about clothing, equipment, and everything else you should bring in good time before the adventure!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Has the description of our adventure captured your imagination, and would you like to sign up or learn even more about everything?

Feel free to send me a message via the contact form, chat, email, or WhatsApp — and of course, I’ll get back to you personally!
